Daily Mercy

Text: Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

MESSAGE

The Mercy of God is like the dew which settles upon the morning to wet the plants – God releases His mercy every day. The Bible says His mercies are new every morning. A man can not rely upon the mercy of the previous day, he must receive a new mercy for the brand new day.

God offers these instalments of mercy to His children and even to the unsaved. Somehow for a sinner, every single breath is a token of mercy as the days go by. The day when mercy is removed from him, his misery begins because he is caught off from the earth into eternal woe. The more reason why we cannot take the mercy of God for granted.

We need new mercy to worship. We need mercy that sustains and helps us to get deeper insight and revelation into the nature of God as we progress in our Christian walk. For us to continually be overcomers, we must always be supported by His mercy.

Take a look at peter, from the start, mercy singled His boat out for a miracle. Peter was not the only fisherman at the shore and there were other boats Jesus could have entered but Peter received mercy. (Luke 5:1-10)

God continued to release his mercy upon this man, even when he stumbled, mercy picked him up. Jesus said to Peter, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (Luke 22:31-32)

How great is the mercy of God to the man Peter, every instalment was to assist him in fulfiling the purpose of God for his life. Peter would have ended up a failure, except for God’s grace and mercy.

Judas on the other hand never received such mercy. Though some will be quick to point to the fact that he did not repent. Let’s be honest it is the grace and mercy of God that brings a man to repentance. Sounds theological but it’s the truth.

Peter waxed so great and great as mercy was released to him moment by moment. In the end, Peter became a Fisher of men. Many were converted to the gospel and many other incredible signs and wonders were wrought through him. (Acts 5:14-15)

Do you want to fulfil the purpose of God for your life like Peter? Then you must daily obtain this great mercy. God’s mercy is ever fresh and new every morning, have you received a fresh dose?

REFLECTION

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Psalms 90:14

God has released new Mercy for today, therefore I urge you to receive it for yourself and your family by asking God in prayers. May God satisfy you early with His mercy all the days of your life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you today.

  1. Probably no revival forthcoming until enough pastors deal with these TWO issues from the pulpit, and if necessary, in their own lives.
How about starting with the EASY one first.
“What if Christians Stopped Watching TV”: https://youtu.be/q3hIHP-mSPY 10 min.
See statistics on TV viewing in past years (about 40 hours / week average and most Christians are average):

The average Christian is an addict of one type or another, sleep walking through life. Addicts don’t get much done or ponder deeply the important things of life.

    1. James, we appreciate your comment. TV and Modern Tech has indeed done more damage to this generation of believers. But we know that Revival is God’s prerogative and He will be gracious to hear the prayers of every intercessor praying for the mighty move of God. All that is wrong will be made right when God gives revival. If God doesn’t find pastors available, He will use laymen as He had done in the previous Revivals.
