MESSAGE
God’s promise to His children is to be fruitful, it was a blessing made by the decree of His word. Fruitfulness in this sense is beyond human reproduction but all-around fruitfulness in life.
When sin came into the world, the order of the entire world changed. Man who was to have dominion became dominated and oppressed. God placed a curse upon the ground and man had to labour and toil heavily. Instead of the ground bringing forth fruits, it brought thorns and thistle. (Genesis 3:17-18).
It is important to note that after the flood in Genesis 8:21, God said ” I will no longer curse the ground for man’s sake”. But even at that, sin has placed Man under the dominion of the evil one. He is a wicked taskmaster who has continued to bring man into endless fruitlessness.
Thank God the believer is redeemed from the curse of the law and the blessings of God to Abraham is appropriated to us by faith (Galatians 3:13-14). By the virtue of the new covenant made through the blood of Jesus, fruitfulness is yours. You cannot be barren because God said it:
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
Exodus 23:25-26
Your land will no longer be barren, you will experience fruitfulness in your spiritual life, your home, your job, in your business and every area of life because it is God’s word to you. As long as you are in Christ, you will be fruitful in every good work.
If God however keeps you in the waiting room, know that you are not barren but simply waiting and He will come for you. He will supply you with abundant peace and joy while you wait.
Fruitfulness is first spiritual since life begets life, God wants his children to fruitful in their spiritual endeavours. God’s life in man must me replicated, Jesus speaks of God’s desire for the believer to be fruitful and also warns that failure to do so is dangerous. (John 15:2, 16).
He that wins a soul is wise. Soul winning is Jesus’ direct command, it is the surest way into living in abundance friutfulness. Endeavour to call people out of their labour, and bring them into the rest of Christ.
If you have not yet become a child of God, you must do that now. Now is the time and you will also enjoy fruitfulness by His word.
REFLECTION
God’s word brings fruitfulness, believe it, and apply it to your life.
