Creative Word: Restoration

Text: Ezekiel 37:1, 10 KJV

Further Reading: Ezekiel 37:1-10

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Ezekiel 37:1,10

MESSAGE

Restoration means bringing something back to its original state. Before a need for restoration, things must have gone wrong with a person or an entity.

It could be physical damage, for example, the man with the withered hand was physically incapacitated and needed restoration. Jesus spoke and the creative power of God’s word restored his hand. Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. (Matthew 12:13).

A man could need restoration in his soul. In the book of Mark 5:1-16, Jesus healed the mad man of Gaderenes who had a legion of demons by His word. The man was restored to normalcy clothed and in his right mind.

More importantly, a man could need spiritual restoration. Peter betrayed his Lord, but God had greater plans for his life. In John 20:19:23, Jesus came and breathed upon them. Peter later was discouraged and went back to fishing but Jesus came back and restored him. Jesus spoke directly to Peter and recommissioned him for service. (John 21:15-17).

Take a quick assessment of your life, think about where you need God to bring restoration to you. Are you weak in your body and needs physical restoration; or you are battling mental or soulish problems that call for restoration; are you backslidden and have left your first love needing spiritual restoration? May Jesus speak to your life and bring you restoration in Jesus’ Name.

But you may say, my own case is beyond normal, it is an impossible case. Nothing is impossible for the word of God. The dead man Lazarus who was four days dead heard the word of God and came back to life. God’s creative word is an unstoppable force, it is a specialist in shaming impossibilities.

In our text of the day, God asked the prophet a humanly impossible question: can these bones live? They were dry and disintegrated, it was the height of human impossibility, but not with our God with whom nothing is impossible.

The ‘operation restoration’ in the valley of the dry bones was perfectly handled by the word of God. All the prophet had to say was what God said and there was restoration. Bones coming to bones, muscles and flesh covering the bones, and life coming into the bones, until an exceeding great army arose.

Did you notice that as long as the prophet said what God says there was restoration? Are you in your valley of dry bones, faced with any kind of impossibility? Say what God says. As long as you speak the word of God there will be restoration in your life.

Whatever is dying or is dead can be restored by the word God. Whatever is lost can be restored by God’s word. If you need restoration in your spiritual life, health, family, business, or any other area of life, all you need to do is to speak the word of God.

Whatever you have lost will be recovered today in Jesus’ Name.

REFLECTION

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

John 11:43

Whenever Jesus speaks, dead things come to life. There is great power in the word of God for your restoration.

PRAYER

Father, Please speak your word into my life and give me divine restoration.
