And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:5
MESSAGE
The human mind is like the computer CPU, though it is way faster and processes more information than any supercomputer can. One of the greatest power of the mind is that of imagination.
People from primitive to modern human history have turned this power of imagination into great inventions that we enjoy today. Others had also through the power of imagination invented wickedness that has corrupts many over different generations.
The mind is that path through which thoughts flows. It has a huge ability to create visuals from abstract thoughts.
Imagination is more powerful because it transforms human thought into a picture. It has the projective ability to recreate human thought into visuals in any dimensional space.
If you imagine evil things, you will practice evil and if you imagine good things, you will practice good things. Your lifestyle is the product of your imagination.
What are the things you imagine? What things do you meditate upon? Jesus said that what defiles a man is not what comes into the body but that which is of the heart (Matthew 15:17-18).
Many people in their minds can undress a woman on the street and even commit immoral acts with her. The mind is that powerful. That is why the Lord says whosoever look at a woman with lust in his heart has committed adultery (Matthew 5:27-28).
The devil has produced many devices to contaminate the thought process of man. Be careful of wrong conversations, movies, songs and other media entertainment that sponsor wrong imagination.
In a corrupt and messed up world in which we live, you must constantly fill your heart with God’s word, it will always produce the right thoughts. (Psalms 119:9).
Amnon the son of David was filled with evil imagination, he so lusted after his sister until he committed evil. He ended up in the grave (2 Samuel 13). Evil imaginations will only lead a man to hell. Beware!
As a man thinks in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7). A man may not be able to grow in life physically or spiritually beyond his vision or imagination. You can unlock the gates of breakthroughs and blessings by creating positive and right imaginations from the inspired word of God.
What have you imagined lately? Do you constantly picture and imagine what heaven will look like? It is time to channel our thoughts appropriately and to good things (Colossians 3:2)
REFLECTION
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Phillpians 4:8
Think upon those things which are pure and lovely, things of virtue and good report, they will form your future.
PRAYER
Father, please help to watch and guard my imagination, and also channel them into those things that please You.
