MESSAGE
God is principled and highly disciplined in His dealings with man. He is very meticulous in His work and His ways are perfect.
When He made man, it was clear that man would only survive if man completely rely on Him. The obedience of Adam would guarantee a continuous enjoyment of divine favour. But he lost that privilege when he disobeyed God. This plunged the entire humanity into darkness.
God saved you to be dependent on Him for guidance and counsel. He saved you for Himself – you are not of yourself. You now belong to Him. Even though everything is made ready for you, it must be received from above (1 Corinthians 6:19).
You have now come under His lordship. God is not a tyrant, He does not keep us in bondage as men do. His commandment or instructions are not grievous (1 John 5:3).
Every commandment is to lead to a blessing if you would obey the word of the Lord, you will have peace like a river and great fruitfulness (Isaiah 48:17-19).
Your Obedience cannot be partial, it is insulting to God. You must obey in all things.
The Bible says that Jesus was obedient to God unto death (Philippians 2:8).
Even when it meant that He had to learn obedience through suffering, He still went all the way. Imagine Jesus refusing to die, what would our salvation mean? He had obeyed God up till this point, but to abandon His mission and say No to God is to leave the entire humanity in ruins (Hebrews 5:7-8).
Saul a merely favoured son of Kish lost his kingdom become he would not obey God completely. If you want to continue in the favour and blessing of God, you must live by obeying Him and that fully.
The secret of God’s blessing upon Noah was found in a few lines, “Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.”. His obedience unlocked God’s blessing and everlasting covenant (Genesis 6:22; 7:5). Noah did all, how about you?
How have you been doing in your obedience, have you been fully following God’s instructions or do you do little and abandon the other?
Partial obedience is equal to disobedience, and it will land a man into disaster. You must cry to God for mercy if you are guilty of partial obedience. God is ready to forgive.
REFLECTION
To receive God’s blessings, your obedience must be complete. Don’t allow disobedience to rob you of God’s promises for your life.
PRAYER
Father, give me the grace to be obedient to you in all things.
