MESSAGE
God will not unveil His full plans to a man until such is totally committed unto Him. This is where it becomes important for believers to absolutely surrender to Him and walk in His will.
We have spoken expressly about separation from the world unto God and also that the Christian must drop every weight that may pull him down and separate himself from people who stands as a hindrance to his complete devotion to God.
So, what are the blessings of separation?
In our readings of the day, we saw how after Abram separated himself from Lot, God came back to bless him (Genesis 13:14).
Those who belong to God possess everything, Paul said to the believers in Corinth, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). When you commit yourself to God you have everything. Jesus said because you seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness first that every other thing you will get (Matthew 6:33).
Peter asked Jesus a very similar question, “Lord, we have left all, what do we get following you?”. And here is the Lord’s reply:
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Matthew 19:29.
Another great blessing that will flow in your life after separation unto God is “abundant and abiding fruitfulness”. The Bible says you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water yielding her fruit in due season. The Lord also said in John 15:5 that you will now bring forth much fruit.
It shows that you cannot be barren physically or spiritually. You will also get answers to prayer (John 15:7). Abram got all the land and even an eternal inheritance such that through him all the nations of the earth are blessed.
Finally, you will have a renewed relationship with the Lord. It was after the separation that Abram built another altar unto the Lord. Then you will seek Him with your whole heart and He will be found of you (Jeremiah 29:12-13).
Are you still holding back some sins in your life, are there people you still want to keep at all costs? Doing that will only be unfair to yourself. Drop the sins, weights, and all the people hindering you from living for God today and all these blessings much more will be yours.
REFLECTION
PRAYER
A life yielded to God will not lack God’s blessings. Such will also be confident to call God his or her Father.
Father, please make me a partaker of all the blessings you have designed for those who walk with you.
