MESSAGE

Anyone who believes that God is the source of his blessings will not see tithing as a mere old testament law but as a means of thanking God for His provision. There have been so many arguments by people about whether Tithing is relevant in our time or not.

Self-sufficient men would easily argue this. But if you are a true child of God, you can begin to see this in a new light. Each time you pay your tithe, what you are saying is “Thank you God”.

The first-ever recorded mention of tithing was done by Abram, and he paid to Melchizedek who was a priest of the most high God. When you see the order of events before Abram gave the tithe, you will understand the principle behind it.

Abram went to war against four hostile kings, God kept him and gave him victory. As he was coming back, God brought him bread and wine to meet his immediate hunger. It was then that He paid the tight of all he recovered to God.

Saying thank you for preserving my life, thank you for the victory you gave me, and thank you for your provision. You are only able to make money because God preserved your life, gave you victory over your enemies and provided you with food. Can you not say thank you?

The Bible says in all things give thanks, tithing is also part of all things. Though not convenient yet God I thank you for your blessings (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Tithing is there doing the will of God.

Only the living can thank God, the dead can not. So while I am yet Alive I will thank Him with my whole heart and with my substances (Proverbs 3:9).

When we say thank you with our tithes, God also blesses us. He has promised that He will open for you a window in heaven and give you so much blessing that your barns can not contain (Malachi 3:10). When God opened the window of heaven in Samaria, lack became surplus, an end came to famine and the land was refreshed (2 Kings 7:1-20).

If you are currently experiencing famine, check if you are faithful Tither, if not repent and ask God to help you make amends. Do not be a robber, stop stealing what belongs to God. You will only be eating poison (Malachi 3:8-9).

God is faithful and true to His word. You can bank on it.

REFLECTION

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High.

Psalms 50:14

God does not need your money or whatever you bring to His house, Tithing is a principle designed by God to bless this who will say, Thank You To Him.

PRAYER

Father, help me to be faithful in my tithes and offerings.
