MESSAGE
As we move speedily towards the end time, one of satan’s biggest tactics to pull the believer down is fear. What he wants to achieve is that the saint is discouraged and stops trusting the promises of God.
Fear is an evil spiritual force that magnifies what is unreal. The mind of the Christian is the target of the enemy. If he can use fear to destabilize your faith then he has a fair chance of stopping you from reaching your goal.
Most of the things we fear are unreal, but under the influence of this evil spirit, it becomes so overwhelming and tormenting. The Bible says fear has torment (1 John 4:18).
Imagine the good old saint, Job becoming a victim of his fear. Job said the things which I fear the most have happened to me (Job 3:25). Why was he afraid, who was the author of his fear? Certainly not God but the enemy. It seems to me as if each time the devil successfully makes the believer fear, he gains so much control to execute his evil plans.
God’s will for you is not to be afraid under any circumstance. He told Abram in our text of the day, “fear not”. To everyone God has used down the line, He is quick to address the subject of fear. He told Joshua also not to be afraid nor be dismayed (Joshua 1:9). And the Lord rebuked the disciples: why are you fearful, have faith in God.
Dear friend, God is saying to you amid all the crises in this world that you should not be afraid but rather you should trust Him. The Lord told Abram, “I am your shield and exceeding great reward” – what the Lord meant was that I will keep you from all evil and give you all that you fear that you may not have.
God is for us, who can be against us? He that keeps you neither slumber nor sleep (Psalms 121:4). What time you are afraid, just trust him that He will assist and rescue you. We can count on Him and rest in Him. There is also a promise of deliverance for us when the enemy tries to make us afraid (Psalms 56:3; Psalms 34:7).
God does not want us to be fearful. He cannot do anything good with a fearful man. Timid men are of no use to God or men. God told Gideon to send those who are afraid back home, and twenty-two fearful men were cut off from God’s plan of deliverance (Judges 7:3).
Fear takes men to eternal condemnation (Revelation 21:8). The more reason why you must avoid it and you must seek deliverance through the word of God. The truth is that Christ died to deliver us from fear, so that we may serve him without fear all the days of our lives (Hebrews 2:14-15, Luke 1:74).
Can you praise God for His deliverance and deliberately walk into it from this day? Fear Not!
