MESSAGE

Has God promised you anything and there seems to be a delay? Are you already losing courage and confidence in His promise? God on to Him because the Almighty God will still do it.

In our text of the day, the patriarch Abram had a question that many believers ask today. The question of how God will fulfil His promise.

Though Abram knew God’s promise, the means for coming into the promise seems very uncertain at this time. He was wondering how God would bring to pass the promise made to him when he was already an old man.

When God promise you anything and it seems to delay, don’t worry about how He will do it. The situation may already be impossible for man but not with God. Our God is more than able to come even after all hope is lost (Luke 1:37; Luke 18:27).

Jesus received the message of Mary and Martha but he tarried another four days before going to Bethany. Though Lazarus was dead and buried, God who is never late brought him forth alive (Read John 11).

Do not underestimate the power of God’s promise because He is faithful to fulfil that which He has promised. Naturally, we tend to want to try out our methods, but God’s ways are the best for us (Romans 4:21).

God will never accept any alternative from man. We must allow Him to work out His plans in us. Anything we work out for ourselves will bring death. Be careful and wait for God to come – trust Him and you will not be disappointed.

God in His mercy will bring yet other promises to encourage you. Let us therefore hold fast to God’s promise which shall surely be fulfilled.

Beloved stand fast and immovable on the promise of God. No matter how long the delay may be. God will still perform what He has said. Dare to believe and all will be well.

REFLECTION

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:3

God keeps His word forever, He is ever committed to doing what He has promised.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to trust in your promises for my life and to keep waiting till it is done.
