MESSAGE
One wrong counsel is enough to sink a man’s vision and plans – such counsel can further lead to the forfeit of God’s will and purpose for His life.
In our previous lesson, we saw how through the counsel of Sarai, Abram made a generational mess by going in unto Hagar the Egyptian. We can not run ahead of God, we must certainly wait on and for Him. Those who have attempted to run ahead of God have either run their lives down or run into hell.
It is wisdom for every child of God to trust God fully with all their hearts, every provision of the flesh will lead to serious troubles.
Consider the first man, Adam; how he listened to the counsel of the woman against the counsel of God. Any other word spoken by any other person other than the word that you have received from God is not from God. You must run from such.
You must learn to say No to people and yourself. The result of that counsel is still playing out to date. The enemy’s first attempt is to try and make us doubt God. The devil said to Eve, “Did God say?” – we must trust God to hold our ground and believe God rather than any other (Genesis 3:1).
Some may indeed trust and lean upon the arms of the flesh but our confidence must be in God. Don’t forget that the just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). The book of proverbs also warns us against heeding the enticement of sinners (Proverbs 1:10-19).
There may be so many devices in a man’s heart but the counsel of God only will stand. Allow God to work for you and you can be sure that your expectations shall not be cut short.
REFLECTION
In all things, we must allow God’s counsel to prevail above man’s. In His counsel are safety and many blessings.
PRAYER
Father, please let your counsel stand upon my life.
