MESSAGE
Truly, hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life (Proverbs 13:12). When suddenly a man’s desire is granted there is joy and laughter. The Bible says that when the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion we were like them that dream and our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with singing (Psalms 126:1-2).
My prayer for you this morning is that the Lord will make you laugh. You might have been weeping for a while, but I declare that your joy comes this morning (Psalms 30:5). Wherever you have been failing and weeping, the Almighty God will cause you to succeed and give you joy and laughter in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
One of the ministries of Christ is to heal the brokenhearted, to give the oil of joy instead of mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:1-3).
Laughter is an expression of joy. As a child of God, no matter what you are passing through in life you will never lack joy because of the presence of God in your life that produces the fullness of joy.
In our text and reading of the day, the Bible recorded that Abraham was hundred years old when Sarah gave birth to Isaac. It was a great event that brought joy and laughter to Sarah. She said, “The Lord made me laugh”. What was thought impossible with men was made possible by God?
Have you been so pressed down by life and have lost hope that anything good can still come out of you? Is your health, finance, business, or family falling apart and there seems to be no way of escape? Are you married without children yet and it seems as if it’s over for you? Be encouraged and assured this morning that God will make you laugh. Just as the Lord visited Sarah and gave her joy, you will also have joy.
When God visits your hopeless situation, you will not only be laughing but people will be laughing and rejoicing with you. When Mary and Martha lost their only brother, people were mourning with them, some queried and mocked saying “why didn’t Jesus come to heal Lazarus if He loved them”. But when Lazarus came out of the grave alive, both the mourners and mockers gave glory to God.
Be ready to laugh this morning because Jesus will make you laugh by giving you a grand turnaround for good. That which is impossible in your life will turn into testimony in Jesus’ Name. Hold on to God and have faith, trust in His word that can never fail, and very soon your joy will be full.
REFLECTION
No matter how long the delay in your life has lasted, hold on to God who will make you laugh triumphantly in the end.
PRAYER
Father, please give me joy and make me laugh today.
