MESSAGE

God is indeed the rewarder of those who trust Him wholeheartedly.

Radical faith in God has always produced great blessings. In the case of Abraham, it was a Covenant Blessing.

When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, He had a provision in place. He only wanted Abraham to trust in Him completely. God has also prepared a generational covenant blessing for Abraham on the condition that he exhibits the kind of faith that none other have.

When you are being tested, it is not because God wants to punish you as His child. God is preparing something great for you. The Bible says that when we endure temptation, He will give us a crown of life (James 1:12). Also, you must trust Him that He will bring you out safely.

Our God, Jehovah Jireh will always provide. You may be going through the toughest time of your life in this harsh inflation-sickened economy, be at rest because God will bring you into a wealthy place. In your hour of trial, hold on to His word, He has promised that you shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine you shall be satisfied (Psalm 37:19).

In response to Abraham’s obedience and radical faith, God restored the first blessing Adam lost and gave it to Abraham. God swore by Himself and made the blessing an everlasting covenant. Through Abraham, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed (Genesis 22:18). A promise concerning the Messiah who will redeem the whole world from the curse of sin.

It was because of this covenant blessing that we are saved through the redemptive work of Christ. We are redeemed from the curse of the law and made part-taker of the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:13-14).

Everyone who has been saved is now an inheritor not only of the blessing of Abraham but also of the God of Abraham (Genesis 15:1). If you are not yet born again, you can today by confessing your sins and believing In the power of God to save you through the blood of Jesus. The blessing can be yours also if only you will make your way right with God.

REFLECTION

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Hebrews 11:16

God is not ashamed to be called the God of Abraham because of his faith in Him. God has also prepared a heavenly city for those who walk in the faith of Abraham.

PRAYER

Father, Please help me to walk in the faith and obedience of Abraham.
