MESSAGE

Every time a man turns his eyes away from God and begins to devise his plans, such will be calling for failure and disappointment. Our walk with God is a faith walk and God demands absolute trust and faithfulness from His children.

Although, there is this human tendency to want to begin with God’s instruction and in between try to apply the natural sense. It is at this point that many find themselves in trouble. Paul told the Galatians that it is utter bewitching for them to start in the spirit and desire to finish in the flesh (Galatians 3:1-3)

If we will successfully win and complete our course as believers, we must not turn to the arms of the flesh or trust in our experience, but completely rely on God. What God has started, He is well able to accomplish. The Bible says that with confidence we can be still and know that He who has begun a good thing in us will definitely accomplish it (Philippians 1:6).

Any man or woman who will enjoy God’s favour continually must continue in listening to Him for direction. We must not give in to the temptation to try and quickly do something on our own.

In our reading of the day, Isaac decided to devise his plans. Somehow he had forgotten that the God who told him to stay in the land is well able to keep and protect his family. He did not learn from the mistake of his father Abraham.

Thank God for His faithfulness in helping Isaac. But He does not want us to live that way. He wants us to trust Him. Some trust in chariots and horses but we must trust in our God. They fell because the arms of flesh will always but we stand upright (Psalms 20:7-8)

At every stage of your life, you must always commit your plans to Him. Always trust Him. Even when it seems as if He is far, always place your confidence in Him. Do not devise any means for yourself, you may end up biting your fingers.

A life that will continually enjoy God’s favour will continually wait for God’s direction. Even when you have the required ability and skill to do a thing wait upon the Lord and trust Him to instruct you.

REFLECTION

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Psalms 37:5 NKJV

God is faithful, He will keep His words and bless those who trust and follow His word. Let Him lead always.

PRAYER

Father, I surrender my plans and desire to your will and I give You the full right to take the lead in every of my life’s decisions.
