MESSAGE
Even though there are numerous promises scattered throughout the scriptures for the believer, having such promises is not automatic – receiving them depends on the faith of the believer.
God’s promises stand sure, they are yes and in Him Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). The Bible says that heaven and earth will pass away but His word will remain. The promise for your deliverance, healing, provision and spiritual gifts is there but you can only access them through Faith.
Jesus said, the believer can ask and he would receive, he can both seek and knock and get results, but He also showed us that the key to answers to prayer is faith. The Lord said, whatsoever you desire in prayer, believe and you will have it (Mark 11:24). He also spoke of having faith as small as a mustard seed and we would be able to say to a mountain role into the sea.
There is no shortcut, anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
In our text of the day, the Bible showed us how liberal and ready God is to give to His children who ask. But the Bible warns us that there could be a barrier to receiving and that is doubt. Anyone who doubts, the Bible says should not expect to receive anything from God.
Whatever you don’t believe God to give you cannot be yours. Many of us God’s children are suffering and in much trouble because we are double-minded. Our hearts are not fixed on God’s omnipotence, we hope many times that He intervenes in our situations but with no definite faith.
Today, you will come out of that sickness, debt, and whatever troubles in your life. Just have faith in God. He will keep the feet of His saints, He will keep you in perfect peace if your heart is stayed on Him.
REFLECTION
We must ask God to help our unbelief and increase our faith in Him, or else we will continue to live below the plans and promises of God for our lives.
PRAYER
Father, please increase my faith and destroy every doubt in my heart.
