MESSAGE

When we look through the Bible we will see several places where sickness or disease is linked to sin. The original creation of God was free of Cancer, Corona Virus, Malaria and other sickness and disease rampaging the world today. The Bible told us that God said everything was very good (Genesis 1:31).

We can see how damaging and consequential sin was from the fall of man. People live in pain and suffer ailments because something went wrong when the human race was polluted with sin. We also know that everyone who is born through the same line inherited not only sin but also sickness, diseases, and other woes of the human race.

Since God loved the world, His plan for our salvation is not only to save our souls but also to heal our bodies. God wants us to be healed. That was why Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by His stripes, we were healed (Isaiah 53:5).

We would not only have perished eternally but our lives would have been made miserable if Jesus did not die for our sins. While Jesus was on earth, they brought to Him a man who was sick of the palsy, and when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

The story of the man at the pool of Bethesda is another proof that sin causes infirmity. After Jesus had healed him, the Lord told him, to go and sin no more lest something more terrible should happen to him (John 5:14).

Jesus has the power both to forgive and heal all kinds of diseases. He both forgave and healed the young man who lay on the bed and He is still doing the same today.

Whenever you are sick as a child of God, you must check first if there is any sin in your life, if there is none then you can trust that God has allowed it and He will work all things together for your good.

Those who have not received Christ are vulnerable to every kind of attack from the devil including sickness and diseases. Thank God for good doctors and medical workers who work to save lives, but even when they can cure your physical disease, they cannot cure that of your soul.

Jesus is the only one who can give anyone who believes in him both physical and spiritual healing. He will give anyone who comes to Him eternal life. Are you sick and tired of the heavy loads of sin on your back? Drop them at the feet of Jesus, ask Him to forgive your sins today, and give you eternal life.

Jesus is not only a healer but the life-giver, He is the resurrection and life, even if your body perishes or wears away on earth, your soul will be preserved in eternity with God. Decide for Christ today.

REFLECTION

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

1 Peter 2:24 NKJV

Sin is the root cause of sickness and diseases – Jesus died so that He can give us eternal life and also heal our bodies.

PRAYER

By His stripes, I am physically healed and my relationship with God is restored today.
