Eternal Value

Text: Hebrews 11:24-25 NKJV

Further Reading: Hebrews 11:23-27

By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.

Hebrews 11:24-25 NKJV

MESSAGE

The reason why many believers are still joking about the subject of their final destination at the end of their journey on earth is that they have not personally seen the real value of heaven.

The cost of following Christ is high, but the gain is higher. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24 NKJV

But if we suffer with him, we will also share in His glory. Nothing you go through on earth is worth losing your salvation. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Romans 8:18 NKJV

What does the glory of God mean? Romans 3:23 says that all men have sinned and in turn have forfeited the glory of God. What is it worth of this lost glory? It is worth more than the whole world. The only reason why men are still playing with sin is that they have not seen the glory of God.

The Bible says that even if a man gains the whole world and forfeits his soul, such a fellow is a great loser (Matthew 16:26). All that men are chasing in the world is nothing compared to the glory that Christ has reserved for those who love Him.

The Bible says that eyes have not seen nor hears heard, neither has it crossed the heart of any man what God has prepared for us. So we must do everything to walk with God and make it at last.

Moses was a man who knew the value of the glory of God. What did Moses see that made him forsook everything in Egypt? The same Moses will not go even with angels. He would rather stay if God will not come with him. He must have seen something, that is bigger than Egypt or the throne, so he could decide to leave Egypt and suffer affliction with God’s people.

Oh that the Father might stamp eternity upon our eyeballs. That we may know the value of the life that Christ has purchased for us. When we see the true value, we will no longer joke about our salvation, rather we will guard it with fear and trembling.

REFLECTION

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.

Ephesians 5:14 NKJV

May God open your eyes to the inheritance which He has reserved for you and may you value it in Jesus’s Name.

PRAYER

Father, Please show me your glory.
