MESSAGE
Someone said that the world is not waiting for a new definition of Christianity but the demonstration of it. The reason why your friends and people around you have not received your Jesus is because they have not seen the life of Christ in you.
The world knows its own and expects that if any one will claim not to be part of her, such must prove it in lifestyle, appearance, and conduct. It is very sad to see that those who call themselves Christians are living lives that doesn’t represent Christ.
We live in a time when it is very hard to differentiate between believers and none believers. From the highly seductive dressing to other worldly lifestyles, there is nothing really to show forth the life of Jesus. Our places of worship are no different from any regular disco clubs in terms of beats, dance, dressing, and so on.
The truth is that the world is already in the church and no matter how we cover up, the church is compromised. Before anyone tells you that God looks at the heart and not the body, be quick to remind yourself that a good tree does not produce evil fruit. If truly you are Christ’s, then every area of your life must show it.
Where are the holy brothers and sisters whose life is patterned after Christ and would have none these worldly junk. The Bible told us that the early followers of Christ were called Christians in Antioch because they behaved life Christ. They were so different from every one else that the name Christian was coined for them (Acts 11:26).
Are you different also? Can the people in your job, business place, community call you a Christian not as a matter of religion but because you live the life of Christ. Let no man deceive you, except you are separate from the world and you live for Christ, you are no different from the world.
Dearly beloved, our call is to be totally different from the world. We ought to set the standard for the world and not otherwise. Let us be intentional about living differently. Jesus is our perfect example, not our denomination leaders or their wives, therefore live after Christ who is the author and the finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Make up your mind from today to be intentional about living differently from the world. Stay away from those things that will bring reproach and dishonour to the holy name of Christ.
REFLECTION
The Christian’s life should be above reproach. You can and must be different by living for God every day of your life.
PRAYER
Father, I chose to be different for you in this generation. Help me to stand for you always.
