And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

MESSAGE

You can not separate love from God. It is safe to say that love is the trademark of God visible for all to see. The Bible confirms this truth by saying that, God is love.

The Bible says that God so much loved the world that He gave His only Son to die for her (John 3:16). It was not only the Father that loved us but also Christ. The Bible says that Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:13 NKJV. Though Christ could have denied us, yet He took our sins on His body because of His love for us.

If we were His friends it would have been better, but the Holy Spirit told us who were before the love of God sent Christ to the cross.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Romans 5:8‭, ‬10 NKJV

When we deserved punishment, death, and hell, the love of God broke through to us. This is the only reason why we have salvation. This is the only reason why we could be called children of God. Everything we received through Christ was because of God’s love.

Now, having received the love of God through the forgiveness of our sins, God expects that we also walk in love. He wants us to imitate His action by showing love to others. The Bible says that our love for others will be the ultimate proof of us being God’s children.

After loving God with all our being, we are commanded to love even our enemies to show that we are God’s children. You are to forgive them just as Christ forgave you. You must go everywhere expressing the love of God.

Where ever you may find yourself, walk in love, don’t be itchy and easily offended. Allow the life of Christ to be visible in you. Don’t forget the truth that “love covers a multitude of sin”.

REFLECTION

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:16 NKJV

Have you received the love of God by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? If you have not, cry out to God today and ask Him to save your soul and fill your heart with love.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to walk consistently in your love.
