MESSAGE
Some mountains will not move until a man prays. Prayer to God in Jesus’ name is the greatest mountain crusher, problem solver, and hope renewer. Some problems will keep persisting until a man persists in prayer to cause effective change.
In mark chapter 9 verses 17-29, a man brought his demon-possessed son to the disciples of Jesus but they could not cast it out. When they ask the Lord why they couldn’t, Jesus said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
Mark 9:29 NKJV
The best way to respond to that problem confronting you is by praying it out of your life. It may be strong but your God is stronger. As matter of fact, all power belongs to Jesus, and in His name, every knee must bow and all tongues confess that He is the Lord.
In our text and reading of the day, the Bible told us the story of how God delivered Peter in response to prayer. Peter was in an impossible situation, his death sentence was already passed, but God disappointed the desire of the enemies. This rescue came when the church prayed.
God is still in the business of rescuing those in distress only if we would ask him to help us in prayer. God is willing to put an end to those problems if only you will pray.
In one of our popular hymns “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”, the hymn writer says: Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!
For how long will you live in anxiety over that problem when you can apply the prayer of faith to tackle it? God wants us to pray because He delights in answering our prayers. Do you need a change in your life today? Pray!
Those who are not yet saved can also pray for mercy, and just as God promised, He will not cast you away but He will change your life.
REFLECTION
Be desperate for a change today and pray violently against that problem or issue troubling your life.
PRAYER
Father, please attend to my prayer today and let every mountain of problems in my life be drowned in Jesus’ name.
