Text: 1 Samuel 1:10 KJV

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish.

1 Samuel 1:10 NKJV

MESSAGE

Even though God has promised that no one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in our land; and that He will fulfil the number of our days, the enemy tries to bring barrenness into many lives and families.

A lack of results for one’s labour is barrenness. Some people work but have nothing to show for it, they become frustrated and many give up on the way. Those who are in this category must not give up but rather follow after Jabez who decided to pray away sorrow from his life.

Today, however, we want to talk about families who have no babies because they could not have one. I understand that many have suffered multiple miscarriages, others have fibroids or infertility in the man, and in other cases, nothing seems to be wrong. These are not unprecedented issues, and God has dealt with them gracefully.

Dear sister, stop crying, and start praying, or rather pray more. God can change that hard problem and turn them around. Our God is the God of all flesh and nothing shall be impossible for him. He did it for Sarah, Elizabeth and many others, He will do yours too.

In our text and reading of the day, Hanah went before God. She stopped looking to her husband for a solution, she took the matter into her hands. The Bible says that she poured her heart unto God in prayer. God responded by giving her Prophet Samuel.

Be desperate like Rachel who cried, give me a son or else I die (Genesis 30:1). Cry to God and He will answer. This plea is not for women alone, husbands must take the front role in this cause.

When Rebekah could not have children, the Bible recorded that Isaac prayed and God gave them twins (Genesis 25:21). Barrenness is not the will of God for us, therefore we must take God at His decree. Therefore, I say to you by the word of the Lord, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it, and have dominion in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer changes things and certainly your case will not be different.

REFLECTION

He maketh the barren woman to keep house, And to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalms 113:9 KJV

God is a covenant-keeping God, take His word to Him concerning fruitfulness and He will honour it. No More Barrenness in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER

Father, please terminate every form of barrenness in my life today and change my story for good in Jesus’ name.
