MESSAGE
Jesus said whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26 KJV . This was no mere statement because many are ashamed of the Lord today.
Many Christians are ashamed to witness and share the gospel with their colleagues at work, friends, family, and strangers. To some, preaching the gospel does not dignify.
The great commission is a great business not only for a few but for all saved souls. It’s our Father’s business and we ought not to be ashamed of His business. There is a great indictment upon many Christians who deny the Lord by not sharing the gospel unless they repent. If you are found guilty, turn to God about it now.
Paul in our text of the day showed us the position that we must maintain towards the gospel. It was a shameless attitude – he was not ashamed of the gospel because of its power to change lives.
Though men may ridicule you for sharing the Gospel, you must not be ashamed. Are you ashamed of Jesus? If not, go all the way out to tell men about His love and grace. Those who fail to actively share the gospel are only robbing themselves of both the earthly and eternal rewards that God has prepared for soul winners.
Sometimes, however, the devil tries to sow the seed of timidity into the lives of Christians, therefore, be bold to share the gospel and the shame will be to satan.
REFLECTION
I am not ashamed of Jesus and His gospel, therefore as long as I have my breath in me, I will always preach the gospel.
PRAYER
Father, please help me to be more active in local and global evangelism.
