Don’t Make God Your Enemy 2

Text: Isaiah 14:12 KJV

Further Reading: Isaiah 14:12-20

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:12 KJV

MESSAGE

Pride was the first and original sin and it was committed in heaven. This sin brought down the most decorated, powerful, and anointed angel from grace to hell. It became the only singular unpardonable sin because satan would not be content with the position where God place him, but would rather take the place of God.

This became an irreversible error, an unatonable sin and led to satan’s ultimate downfall. In contrast, we could see Jesus condescended and humbled himself to the point of death.

The word of God says that though Jesus could claim some rights of His own as the Son of God, yet He refused. He instead took the form of a servant. This is the attribute that God wants us to have.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5 KJV. Read (Philippians 2:1-11).  The result of Christ’s humility was that God placed Him above everything that was made both in heaven and earth. God gave Him a name which is above every other name.

God also gave Him all the power in heaven and earth.  The difference is clear, God throws down the proud but lifts the humble. Up till now in every place and generation, Jesus is still being exalted while Satan is constantly falling down.

The devil became God’s enemy through pride and he is doing everything to drag you into similar, you must refuse it. The Bible says that pride comes before fall. Beware and do not allow the things you possess to pitch you against God who owns everything.

A word is enough for the wise: pride goes before fall. Pride has destroyed many great men, do not join the list. Rather, humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.

REFLECTION

Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: But the proud he knoweth afar off.

Psalms 138:6 KJV

If you will rise, humble yourself before the Lord, or else you fall without remedy.

PRAYER

Father, please I receive the mind of Christ in Jesus’ Name.
