MESSAGE
Judging by the scriptures, God will be asking us to do what He knows we cannot do if victory over sin is impossible. In Matthew 5:48, God desires to require us to be perfect as He is. Also in 1 Peter 1:15-16, the word of God says, “but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
In another scripture, God instructed believers to follow peace with all men and holiness without which no one can see Him (Hebrews 12:14). If you look carefully at the mentioned Bible references, you will agree with me that it is either victory over sin is possible or holiness is impossible.
Thank God because we are sure of victory through the blood of Jesus, and through His blood, we are delivered from the power of sin operating in our old nature (Hebrews 13:12). Now we can serve God in holiness and truth.
Dear Christian, you must desire this reality of victory over sin – everything has been paid for at Calvary. You must stop allowing the enemy to cheap you of this glorious inheritance in Christ Jesus.
The grace of God that saves you from sin can keep you from sinning or else it is not the true grace of God. It may be some of those cheap grace that Satan is offering people today. As a young Christian, there was a quest in my heart for victory over sin. There was something crying out within me to be totally free from rising and falling.
Thank God who brought me to this victory through His word. Let no man deceive you to think that we cannot enjoy true freedom over sin. God desires that we have it, and He designed it through the finished work of Christ at Calvary.
The greatest deliverance anyone can have is from sin and sinning. The will of God is your sanctification(holiness, purity) and He has not called you into uncleanness but unto a life of victory over sin (holiness).
REFLECTION
Today’s reflection is a prayer you must pray. Ask the Lord to sanctify you and keep you blameless unto the day of His coming.
PRAYER
Father, please sanctify me wholly and keep me blameless until the coming of the Lord.
