Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

MESSAGE
One of the many misconceptions in today’s Christianity is the idea that many will make it to heaven in the end. This is not true, the Lord says that the way to life is narrow and only a few will find it.
The narrow way is the way of discipline. The Bible says, “For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” Hebrews 12:6 NKJV
The Father will not tolerate any of His children. He disciplines them when they are wrong, He does not pamper but disciplines when need be.
It is the way of consecration and holiness unto the Lord.
“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
I Peter 1:15-16 NKJV
Those who follow this way may not be popular but are known by their Lord. They are loyal and committed students of the scripture. They are guided by the word of God and not by their own wisdom (Proverbs 3:5-6).
The narrow way is also the way of obedience. God demands absolute obedience from anyone who will be a part of His kingdom. The Son of God was obedient unto death, so also must all who will inherit the kingdom of God.
The narrow way is the way of suffering. Jesus foretold that His followers will have tribulations in this world. The Bible also said, Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
II Timothy 3:12 NKJV
This way teaches that godliness with contentment is a great gain and that true happiness is not defined by what a man has but by how much of God’s presence is in his life.
Those who follow this way are usually called fanatics, they are tagged unfashionable but they possess the true treasure of heaven.
One way to check if you are on this way is to test your life against Romans 12:1-2. Check if you are not conformed to the world. Check if you are continually renewed and transformed by the word of God.
The way may be rough and the journey hard, but don’t leave the narrow way, it is the only way to life.

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Jesus is the way, those who faithfully follow Him will have eternal life.
PRAYER
Father, please deliver me from the temptations of the broadway. Keep me in this way of life.
