MESSAGE
Discouragement is one of the tools by which satan attacks the believer. The enemy knows that he cannot get you to sin, but he can cause you to be discouraged and to want to lose confidence in God. Any discouragement allowed in a believer’s life is a prelude to a gradual fall. Don’t tolerate any form of depressive thoughts and ideas in your mind.
For some believers, the devil uses financial discouragement. I have seen this play out to frustrate the work of faithful servants of God. But you must be encouraged, don’t all the enemy to prevail over your soul. Other believers experience discouragement in their marriage, business, and ministry. May the Lord encourage such persons in Jesus’ name.
When you look at Elijah, he had caused a mighty revival in the nations. But moments later became discouraged because Jezebel threatened to kill him. Elijah got so discouraged that He wanted to die, except for divine intervention (1 Kings 19:1-7).
In our text and reading of the day, David and his men became so discouraged to the extent that mighty men became faint. The enemy had raided their homes and taken their wives and children captive. They were all downcast but David took courage in the Lord. In the end, God gave them mighty victory and they recovered all they had lost.
No matter how bad the situation is, you must know that worry will do no good. The Lord said, Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
Matthew 6:27 NKJV
Cast all your cares upon the Lord and he will sustain you, He will not allow your heart to be moved. Be encouraged because Jesus is alive and He will not allow the enemy to prevail over your soul.
REFLECTION
Only hope in the Lord, the Lord will strengthen your heart. The Lord will restore everything you have lost to you today in Jesus’ name.
