Grace And Sin Don’t Mix

Text: Romans 6:1-2 NKJV

Further Reading: Romans 6:1-4

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

Romans 6:1-2 NKJV

MESSAGE

Just as water and old do not mix, grace and sin can never co-exist. No one can claim to be under the grace of God and yet remain in habitual sin. Does the scripture not say that anyone who sins is of the devil (1 John 3:8)? How then can you who have come out of the bondage of the devil (sin) be bound by it again?

The Bible told us that all men have sinned and have come short of God’s glory, but God sent His son to deliver humanity from sin. It is a translation according to Colossians 1:13 from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Grace is a powerful force that enables the saint to hate sin. You cannot love what you hate, so also when you have come under the grace of God, you will automatically hate sin.

It is an error in doctrine if anyone thinks that he or she can misbehave because of the grace of God. In our text of the day, the Bible told us that, it is impossible to continue in sin and at the same time enjoy the grace of God.

Many are of the school of thought that grace covers it all for them even if they live carelessly in sin. But God forbids such. The grace of God gives the Christian power over sin. Grace convicts the heart of wrong and quickly brings us to repentance.

How I love the grace which we have received, it gives us power so that we are no longer slaves to sin. We now through the grace of God have become His chosen generation, a holy nation, and a peculiar people who have been called out of darkness (sin) into His marvelous light (Grace) (1 Peter 2:9).

Are you a Christian struggling with sin? Run boldly to the throne of Grace where mercy is waiting to speak for you and the abundant grace of Christ will bring you to victory over sin.

The grace of God gives liberty, it is not the liberty to sin but from sin. Will you come into this blessed grace? (Read Romans 6)

REFLECTION

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

John 1:17 NKJV

Jesus came to give us abundant life, all His suffering is not for us to continue to wallow in sin but that we should be victorious. Victory is in the cross, if you will access it.

PRAYER

Father, please, let your grace bring me into victory over sin and every challenge of life in Jesus’ name.
