MESSAGE
Whenever the storms of life hit, what matters the most is God’s presence. Is He with you? If yes you are sure that no storm can prevail against you. In Mark 4:36-41, Jesus was in the boat with His disciples when the storm arose, it was fierce and tempestuous, and it seems as if they would perish but the Lord was there. He calmed the storm and there was a great peace.
You must never go on any journey of life without the presence of God. This is because storms will certainly come to test your journey. If you don’t have the master in your boat then you will certainly sink.
When Jonah decided to leave God’s presence, he ran into a storm (Jonah 1:3). He nearly lost his life but for God’s mercy. There is no doubt that God’s presence is more than life to anyone who values it. It will be a disaster to have everyone with you on your journey of life if God’s presence is not with you.
In our reading of the day, Moses knew this secret. He never undervalued nor underestimate the need for the presence of God. He was not going to be content with the presence of an Angel. It was God Himself that will do.
No wonder the Lord has to assure Moses, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Exodus 33:14 KJV. This means that only His presence can guarantee you rest. A person whose life is void of God’s presence will be enduring an endless cycle of toil without rest. You must value His presence which brings rest to a soul.
Be intentional about His presence, angels will not do. It is either God goes with you or you don’t move at all. You a guaranteed safety and divine coverage when you abide in His presence. Moses would not go with an Angel, why should you? Ask God to fill your life with His presence today and you will begin to enjoy His supernatural power.
