MESSAGE
What if God wants to guide a man and the fellow refuses His help? God will play His part and there is a part that you must play. You must allow God to lead you in the right way.
Allow Jesus to take the wheel of your life, you must stop struggling for control of your life, only then will He be able to take you to the best future for you. After all, Jesus is the way, and He is also the door, whenever He directs you, you can be sure that it is in the best way.
Today we will look at some of the things in man’s life that will not allow Him to be directed by God. The number one is “Sin”. Do not be deceived, sin separates a man from God. It will hinder you from accessing the throne of grace. That is why you must deal with every sin in your by seeking God’s mercy.
Another dangerous attitude that can hinder a man from receiving divine direction is pride. The Bible says Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. Psalms 138:6 NKJV. The proud man thinks he does not need the leading of God, he goes on boasting about his prowess and knowledge, and before long he falls and destroys himself. Don’t be proud, be humble enough to acknowledge God in all your ways.
Apart from pride, you must also open your mouth and ask for directions. According to our text of the day, God desires that you ask for the way. In Matthew 7:8, the word of God says that everyone who asks receives, and those who seek will find. You must actively seek divine direction in the place of prayer.
You must cry to the Lord to direct you just as the Psalmist did. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalms 61:2 NKJV
The Lord will lead you and bring you to that expected end. Open your hands wide and He will carry you; open your mouth wide and He will fill it.
REFLECTION
Humble yourself before the Lord and He will direct you to the right path. Always acknowledge your need of His help at every phase of your life, and He will be gracious to lead you to the path of everlasting joy and peace.
PRAYER
Father, please direct my path and do not allow pride to hinder me from receiving divine direction from you. Keep me humble!
