Text: Jeremiah 32:8NKJV

Further Reading: Jeremiah 32:1-15

Then Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the Lord, and said to me, ‘Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

Jeremiah 32:8 NKJV

MESSAGE

At salvation, God gives the believer the Holy Spirit to guide and direct them in the journey of life. He speaks to us so that we would be able to fit into God’s perfect will for us. Today, we will further look at the ways by which God leads us.

The Holy Spirit speaks to us in our hearts. Sometimes is a clear voice in our hearts, and some other times it is a strong impression laid upon our hearts. The Bible says in Isaiah 30:21, Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 NKJV

The surest way to get direction from God is through His word. Sure because His word is forever settled in heaven (Psalms 119:105). God’s word can become a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path (Psalms 119:89). You can only get accurate direction from the word of God.

This is why you must continue to meditate on the word of God. It is from the word of God that you have learned that God will guide you. God is speaking to you as He told Joshua that the book of the law must be constantly upon your heart so that your ways can be prosperous and that you should have good success (Joshua 1:8).

Believers must learn to take the word of God with earnest seriousness. When you suddenly have a word from the Bible come to you to form an impression upon your heart, you can be sure that it is from God.

In our text and the reading of the day, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah and God confirms it. In like manner, when God gives specific direction, He will confirm it. Learn and bind the word of God upon your heart. It will keep your feet from falling.

REFLECTION

Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Psalms 119:133 NKJV

When your steps are directed by God’s Word, you can never stumble in life. I, therefore challenge you to take God’s word with seriousness and obey His word when it comes to you.

PRAYER

Father, please direct my steps by your words every day of my life.
