MESSAGE
Christmas has consistently maintained a strong relevance among Christians and none Christians alike. It is the time when many share gifts and merry with friends and family. Truly Christmas is one of the best holiday seasons. But beyond the enjoyment, we must know the essence
The true essence of Christmas is to celebrate God’s love for unworthy men. The Bible said that God so loved the world and He sent His Son (John 3:16). Jesus is the greatest gift that came from God the Father.
He is the perfect gift who came from above to reconcile humanity back to God. God gave Christ to us freely. He did it for us not because we were His friends but enemies. From the fall of man, the man was separated from God and Jesus came to restore that broken relationship.
As precious as Jesus is to humanity, only those who accept Him will have eternal life. Imagine you have a special gift for someone, if that person rejects the gift, there is nothing you can do. In the same way, Jesus the greatest gift has been given to us but only those who accept Him will not perish and have eternal life.
Therefore, you must stretch your hands and open your heart to this gift of God. You cannot be indifferent about this, you must make up your mind to believe in Him. There is no greater joy or peace that you can experience outside of Jesus. When you receive Him, you will be amazed by the influx of Joy into your soul.
The birth of Christ was heralded by Angels and it was the news of joy (Luke 2:13-14). So also when you accept Jesus, you will experience joy unspeakable. This is not the kind of joy you have when you are given the most expensive temporal gift, but the one that flows from above.
Will you accept the gift of God Jesus, or will you continue to partake in the yearly Christmas ritual without knowing Christ personally? Choose Christ today and you have the best Christmas ever.
REFLECTION
Jesus did not come to the world to condemn sinful men but that they might be saved. Will you accept God’s perfect gift to you or reject Him? The choice lies with you.
PRAYER
Father, thank you for the gift of Christ to me. Help me to cherish and honor This special gift for the rest of my life.
