MESSAGE
Today we want to continue to examine why you must begin with God this year. You will notice that right from the beginning of creation, darkness has been roaming the face of the earth. That the world was without form and empty is also not also news, but what stood out was the presence of God to command light to shine in the darkness. Immediately that formless universe took form, creation began full time and the work was accomplished.
Even so today, we live in a world full of darkness. Don’t let anyone deceive you, there are dark powers in this world. The Bible called them principalities and power, rulers of the darkness of this world, and a host of spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Those are the forces the believer must contend with every day.
These dark forces will not back down until the believer who is a carrier of God’s light rises. Isaiah 60:1-2 says, Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.

This year like every other year has its evil, therefore you must begin and go with God on the journey. Scripture further says that we are in warfare against strongholds and wicked imaginations of the enemy. Can you then afford to go on this journey this year with God?
Scripture says that the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty.
Psalms 74:20 NKJV. How do you aim to survive such crusty without Jesus the light of this world? It is impossible. That’s why this year, you must make Him your number travel companion in the journey of life.
Thank God who spoke light in the beginning, that Chaos would have continued. But much thanks to our Father in heaven who is both our Light and gave us Jesus the source of light to go with always. As long as Jesus Christ resides in you this year, you can be sure that you will not walk in darkness but exhibit the light of life.
It would be dangerous for anyone to attempt to face this world of cruelty without Jesus. Do you have Jesus in your life? Have you invited Him to go with you on the journey of this year and most importantly the journey of life? If you have not, please ask Jesus to save you from your sins today and ask Him to give you a new light-bearing life to dispel darkness.
REFLECTION
For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

You will need light to in the journey of this year. You need the fullness of Jesus’ life to scale the hurdles of problems in your life this year. Just follow Him
PRAYER
Father, please fill me the fullness of your light this year in Jesus’ name. Amen.
