Text: Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
Further Reading: Acts 3:1-11
MESSAGE
Our God is full of wonder, apart from the fact that He made wonderful things and does wonderful things, He is wonder personified. In Exodus 15:11, the Bible says,
“Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Exodus 15:11 NKJV
How does one explain all the special wonder that God showed in Egypt? But a greater wonder was performed at the red sea. Maybe you don’t understand what happened that day, the wonderful God blast the air out of His nostrils and the sea congealed on the right and the left side (Exodus 15:8). That is a great wonder, my Friend.
The Bible further says in Job 9:10 that He does great things past finding out, Yes, wonders without number. Job 9:10 NKJV. He has consistently been doing wonderful things. He is the great God of awesome wonders.
Our God is living up to His name as seen in our text of the day, WONDERFUL. If Jesus, His Son is wonderful, we know that He is the original wonder. Beloved, this wonderful God is set to do wonderful things in the life of those who believe.
The Bible says that is not only wonderful but also wants you and your children to be for signs and wonders (Isaiah 8:18). What this means is that He will be doing things of wonder in your life and family.
Also, through you, He will be doing wonderful things. In Mark 16:17-18, Jesus said,
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Mark 16:17-18 NKJV
Are you born again and walking faithfully before God? Then you will soon be working in the wonder of His power. This was exactly what happened to Peter and John in today’s further reading. After they perform that miracle, they became a wonder.
Jesus does not only want to do wonderful things in your life but turn you into a Wonder.
Our God is wonderful.
