MESSAGE
The mission of the devil which is to steal, kill, and destroy can be accomplished through anything or anyone. That is why as a child of God you must always be watchful. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8,
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
To achieve the devil’s odious mission, he can use what is good to even do evil. In the context of our text and reading, we saw how the enemy used the serpent to deceive Eve. But is the serpent the real enemy? No, it is the devil.
The devil is the original liar, he bends and twists the truth to perform his evil agenda. Jesus said those who lie are the children of the devil who was the liar from the beginning and the Father of lies.
In our text of the day, we can see how the devil deceived evil by lying to Eve. He twisted the truth and made God look like a liar. We know however that God will be true, He will forever be true, and every man is a liar.
Another means the devil uses to enter into people’s life is to pretend or disguise himself as an angel of light.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV
That is why the Lord admonishes us to be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove.
In most cases, he uses accusations to get God’s people in trouble. The Bible says, that he is an accuser of the brethren. In the book of Job, we saw how with impunity tye devil went on to attack Job’s character. All he did was to sift Job out of God. The enemy is still doing the same today, so be careful and watchful. Any habit you know in you that is of the flesh and can land you into serious troubles must br addressed.
Ananias and Saphira became a casualty and end up dead because the devil tempted them to lie against the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:1-9). Let me tell you clearly, apart from suffering earthly consequences, those who practice lies will find themselves in the lake of fire.
To be free from the devil’s deception, you must know the Truth (and Jesus is that truth).
and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32 KJV
Those who are not yet born again will continuously be deceived by the enemy of their soul. Do you know him? If not, you can ask God to have mercy and save you from sin today.
REFLECTION
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4 NKJV
The word of God is a great antidote to whatever satan is saying. Therefore, you must know God’s word to prevail.
PRAYER
Father, please let the fire of the Holy Ghost consume every lie and accusation of satan over my life.
