But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

1 Peter 2:9 NKJV

MESSAGE

No matter who you are or your social economic status, as long as you are a child of God, you are special. The Bible says that you are a peculiar person. You may be looked down upon by men because of your financial or social status but you are so special to God.

To let you know that you are not ordinary, the Bible says that, not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. I Corinthians 1:26 NKJV. God said that He has made you for His glory.

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure.
Psalms 135:4 NKJV

Your status in Christ Jesus is priceless, you are a citizen of heaven where God dwells in His majesty. Though you are in this world, you are not of this world. Your finance is not determined by the transient and unstable economy of the world but by God’s rich supply of heaven. This is why you can boldly say that your God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Do you know all these? Believers should stop walking around thinking they are nobodies. If you don’t remember anything, never forget that you are God’s treasure. Jesus said in Matthew 6:26 that you are more valuable than birds or lilies that God feeds and clothes.

Never allow the circumstances of life to make you feel worthless, you are God’s child and you are of the heavenly kingdom that cannot fade away. You are a light carrier, you are the salt to the tasteless life of many unbelievers around you, you are the solution to the problems of this generation, you are peculiar.

As long as you live for God and stay away from sin, you will always remain God’s special person. God will also add every other earthly blessing as a bonus to your life. Never forget this, it is a privilege to be a child of God. You are also the apple of His eyes.

REFLECTION

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Titus 2:14 NKJV

In the face of life’s difficulties, you can boldly say to yourself “I am special, I am God’s peculiar treasure”.

PRAYER

Father, thank you for making me your peculiar treasure. Help me to value my status in Christ Jesus. Amen.
