MESSAGE
In the end time battle, God needs valiant men and women. He needs people whose heart is resolute and stable. God cannot use fearful hearts to win the fight against evil as we see it in our society today. A few years ago it was unthinkable to think that people will no longer be able to differentiate between a man and a woman.
Do you think God will use a timid heart to raze down this evil imagination that satan has raised against our generation? No, never! He would not. He needs men with lion-heart, men like Elijah who will dare stand before the kings and declare the counsel of God.
In our text and reading of the day, we saw clearly that God could do nothing with 22,000 fearful men. They will not be useful in the battle of the Lord. They were displaced in God’s mission of deliverance for Israel.
May I daring challenge you to believe with me that God wants to change the situation of your nation and that He will be needing men like you. The question however is this, are you of a fearful heart? If you are born again and have been made righteous through the blood of Jesus, then you must be bold as a lion.
The devil however uses the weapon of fear to intimidate believers. He tries to silence us by magnifying the consequences of doing the right things in a very corrupt generation, but you must always remember that God has not given you the spirit or the heart of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
If you have your full of the love of God and you are doing His will, then there is no fear in love because God’s perfect love casts out fear and anyone that fears is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).
If you will be free from the torment of a fearful heart, you must ask Jesus to come into your heart and have complete faith in Him. Faith in God brings us into a life of absolute rest and peace. Are you a Christian and you are afraid of something, check if you are disobeying God and kicking against His will, if not, then whatever fear satan brings can be handled by the word of God.
Finally, beware of having a fearful heart, because it can destroy a man even into eternity. The Bible says in Revelation 21:8 that the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
REFLECTION
“The officers shall speak further to the people, and say, ‘What man is there who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest the heart of his brethren faint like his heart.’
Deuteronomy 20:8 NKJV
Decide never to allow any kind of fear to rule your heart, rather trust the Lord with all your heart.
PRAYER
Father, please destroy every spirit of fear in me and help to trust you wholeheartedly from today. Amen.
