In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.

MESSAGE

One of the greatest blessings that a believer has in Christ is an inheritance in heaven. The Bible says that because we have been made God’s children we are Co-heirs with Christ. This means that as heirs of God, we have an inheritance in Christ.

Jesus said, In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2 NKJV. This is a strong reason why we should thank Him. The fact that Jesus is in heaven preparing an eternal inheritance for you should blow your mind.

The nature of this inheritance makes it even more glorious. St. Peter catching a glimpse of this inheritance began by thanking God. See 1 Peter 1:3-4.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you. I Peter 1:3‭-‬4 NKJV

The fact that this inheritance is not corruptible, undefiled, and ready-made for you is worth thanking God for. The inheritance that Jesus has prepared for you can only suit you. It is yours.

Also, your service to the Lord is not a waste because you will receive of Him an eternal inheritance (Colossians 3:24). It is a richly glorious inheritance reserved for you because you are born again (Ephesians 1:18).

You must there strive to maintain the standard Christian life by following the doctrines of the Bible so that another would not wear your crown.

REFLECTION

giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

Colossians 1:12 NKJV

Thank Jesus for the treasures in heaven that He is preparing for you and ask God for the grace to make it in the end.

PRAYER

Thank you Jesus for the inheritance you have reserved for me in heaven. Help me to stay faithful till the end, lest another man wears my crown.
