In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

MESSAGE

Though everyone complains of darkness, a man that has the word of God cannot. This is because the Word which was in the beginning became light unto all men. The truth is that you can not be a digger into the word of God and lack light and understanding in any field of endeavor.

The entrance of God’s words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. Psalms 119:130 NKJV. As you dig deeper into the word of God, your path will become as a shining light and it will continue to shine brighter.

You do not only enjoy light, you become light. The Bible says that you are a light to this world and you are a city that is set on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). The more you dig into the word, your light will keep shining before all men in your school, business, office and your field of endeavor that they will see your good works and glorify God in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

You will also be able to set people who are in darkness free. The Bible says in Isaiah 60,

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord rises upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1‭-‬3 NKJV

No matter how prevalent darkness may be, God’s word will bring light. What our society needs to be free from darkness is the word of God. The people grope in darkness because there was no one to shine the light of the word of God. Heaven is counting on you to become the answer to the need of many around you by dispensing the undiluted word of truth. You must dig deeper into the word so that you can rescue others.

Those who dig until they find light in the word of God become light to their generation, how far are you digging into His word? Keep digging.

REFLECTION

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—

1 John 1:1 NKJV

Have you touched the word of life yet? If not you must keep digging. Even when you have touched the word of life and you have become a light carrier, you must not relent but desire to know Him more (Philipians 3:10).

PRAYER

Father, please help me to keep digging until I become a light to my generation.
