MESSAGE
One of the name that the Bible called Jesus through the prophesy of Isaiah is the “prince of peace” (Isaiah 9:6). At the birth of the savior, the Angel made another announcement of peace.
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Luke 2:14 NKJV
That is why the believer in Christ have peace in his life despite all the storms of life. The story in Mark 4:39 illustrated to us the perfect storm that could hit the believer and the subsequent perfect peace because Jesus that Master over the storms is in charge.
In our text of the day, the Lord Jesus made it clear that only in Him will we find peace, outside of Jesus there would only be trouble for the godless. The Saint while they face the storms of life however can keep calm because their they have the prince of peace on their side.
Today, many people are seeking peace in the world but what they need is Jesus. The Lord taught that anywhere we go to preach the gospel we must great them with peace. That’s why the Bible says that we believer should follow peace and holiness with all men without which no one can see God (Hebrews 12:14).
As the salt of the earth, the Lord taught that believers must live at peace with each other (Mark 9:50). In Matthew 5:9, Jesus said that believers who make peace between people are God’s children.
Even though following Jesus means you have peace in your heart and will all men, it could mean war from the world. Because you are following Jesus, the world will come after you with great ferocity (Matthew 10:34).
Do you want peace, come to Jesus. The Bible says that He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-29).
REFLECTION
You don’t have to worry about life as long as Jesus is in your heart. Stay holy, and keep living for God, and you continue to enjoy divine peace.
PRAYER
Father, please grant me peace and rest in you as I follow Jesus and His words.
