MESSAGE
What is the essence of the death of Christ? What makes Christ’s death significant? Why would God let Him go through that unbearable suffering? The Bible says in the book of Isaiah 53 that God had to crush Christ and be satisfied to reconcile humanity to Himself.
The Bible described the fallen nature of man as subject to the wrath of God. This in plain sense can be described simply as:
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 NKJV
Not only have men sin, there is judgment awaiting sinners. The wages of sin is death and it is appointment for men to die once and after it, there is judgment (Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:27).
The Bible declares that all men are subject to perish except those who believe in Christ. The first man Adam through his disobedience placed the entire human race under the bondage of sin. It would take the obedience of another sinless man to undo that curse. No man on earth is worthy to take this role. The word of God says, “There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10 NKJV
Since none is worthy, God sent His son to the world to pay the ultimate price for the sin of humanity which is death. The son of God must taste suffering and ultimately death to deliverer us from sin.
Through His death, Christ reconnects humanity to divinity. He broke the curse that was place on man (Galatians 3:13). He came to grant us eternal life through His shed blood. Anyone and every who come to Jesus by faith can receive this benefit of eternal life.
Are you still doubting and rejecting Christ? You must change your mind today and put all your trust in Christ.
