MESSAGE
The Book of Revelations 4:11 says that God made all things for His pleasure. This means that He chose you to give Him pleasure. Your entire life is designed to bring God glory. In Deuteronomy 14:2 the Bible says,
You have been set apart as holy to the Lord your God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be his own special treasure.
Deuteronomy 14:2 NLT
Our text of the day says that because chose you, He made you to be holy, different from all other persons. The reason is that God wants you to show forth his praise. Ephesians 2:10 says that you are God’s masterpiece. He has created you anew in Christ Jesus, so you can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT
Since Christ Jesus went about doing good (Acts 10:38), He chose you also to do the same. By so doing, men will be able to differentiate you from other people, and they will glorify God in heaven. When the people saw how Peter and John healed the man at the beautiful gate, they glorified God.
Are you living up to these reasons why He chose you? Do men see you and glorify God because of the positive contributions you made to their lives? The Lord said in our further reading of the day that believers who clothe and feed the poor; visit prisons and hospitals; and does many other good works are doing those things on His behalf. Such persons will never lose the rewards.
Don’t forget that the earnest expectation of creation is waiting eagerly for you to manifest God’s glory. Many who currently are distressed are waiting for succor, you are chosen to help these lives. Do not fail Christ.
REFLECTION
You are God’s valuable asset to the world around you, so prove your worth.
PRAYER
Father, please help me to live up to your lofty expectation for choosing me.
