MESSAGE
God knew we cannot help ourselves, He knows that every effort of man to make things right with Him will only end in frustration. So, God proposed an exchange of life. God decided that for the punishment of man, He will make an exchange with His life. He also proposed that for our old sinful life, He will make another exchange by putting all of that life upon Himself and destroying its power altogether. In return, He will give those who believe in Him a new and eternal life.
The first transaction took place when Jesus bore all our sins and sickness, his suffering and agony were the punishment for our sins. The second transaction was done when Jesus became a sin for us even though he did not commit sin and took it to the cross. When both transactions were completely satisfied, Jesus cried, and it is finished. The gate of heaven is now opened to anyone willing to enter.
Jesus is that life, He is the way the truth, and the life (John 14:6). God so much loves the world and gave Christ for us, but only those who will accept Him will get this new life. This life is nothing as you know before, it is a life that can now please and do the will of God. Note that the old man can never please God, therefore you need this new life.
Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25-26). He is inviting you today to come and receive life. Are you dead in sin and trespasses? Simply heed His call today and He will give you a new life (Ephesians 2:4-5).
The Bible says that today, those who are dead in sin will hear His voice and be changed into a new person (John 5:25-26). But if you hear His voice today, do not pretend or harden your heart. If you hear Him knock on the door of your heart, do not keep Him out (Hebrews 3:7-8; Revelation 3:20).
The old life you have is bad enough with its earthly consequence, if you die with it, you have just finished your life in eternal woe.
Christ wants to make you a new creature. He wants you to have a new life that is from God. A life that will be producing good fruits.
Why not listen to Him today?
REFLECTION
You must believe and confess Him as your savior today by words and deeds.
