MESSAGE
The Lord wanted every member of His army to be strong. In God’s army, every soldier must be sharp and not feeble. Not as though they have their strength in themselves but in their Captain, Jesus the Lord of Hosts.
As a soldier of Christ, your strength does not lie in you but in Christ. Although we can build spiritual strength as we constantly and daily walk with our Lord, but the source of our strength is Jesus. That is why the Bible says in Ephesians 6:10:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Ephesians 6:10 NKJV
When you go to the next verse of the scripture above, you will realise that even the armor which we take for our battle is not ours but the Lord’s. This is why our text of the day says that without Him we can do nothing. We cannot win the battles against the enemy of our soul by our strength but His.
The Bible says that all power in heaven and earth has been given to our Lord (Matthew 28:18). Also, in His name all power and force both on earth and in heavenly realms must bow and confess Jesus as Lord.
Whatever way or form the enemy attacks the soldier of Christ, as long as that soldier does not depend on his strenght but Jesus’, victory is certain. Whether the enemy comes with fear, the believer can invoke the spirit and gift of faith which comes from the Lord and be victorious.
One of the devils popular attack is depression. Whenever this attack is lunched, the Soldier of Christ can overcome by the joy of His Lord, which is his strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Whichever way the enemy attacks you, as long as you keep depending on Christ, you can be assured of great victory. Finally, don’t ever forget that our captain is victorious, therefore in Him, we have victory. Amen.
REFLECTION
Your victory is very certain if you solely depend on Christ for strength both for warfare against the enemy and your walk with God. Therefore, completely depend on Him.
PRAYER
Father, please help me to look away from myself and to you for strength always.
