and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

MESSAGE

One undeniable truth is that there is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 57:21). The wicked man the Bible says flees when no one is pursuing him because he is afraid that the consequence of his evil deeds may catch up with him. But what happens when a righteous is in a storm or great distress?

What happens when the righteous cries and goes through troubles? As the Psalmist says, O my God, my soul is cast down within me;
(Psalms 42:6 NKJV). The truth is that many times the storms of life raise their ugly head against a child of God.  You are likely to have experienced one recently or in the midst of one.

The fact that you have Christ in your life does not mean that storms or challenges will not come. Many believers who have listened to End time preachers find themselves falling short when storms arise. They are not prepared for it, they have been told that the Christian life it is all pleasure – this is not true, storms will come.

In our text and reading of the day, the Bible recorded that it does not matter what foundation and as I would say, the material a man uses to build his life, storms and floods will come to test that house. That you have built your life on Christ the solid rock does not mean storms will not arise.

Jesus said that in this world you will have hard times,  persecutions, tribulations, and many other stormy episodes, only you can rest assured that He will give you peace and victory (John 16:33).  In fact, the Lord said you will be hated by all men for his name’s sake (Matthew 10:22).

Is your life built on Jesus? Have you built your business or worked on the foundation of Christ?

Those build their lives on Christ face storms, how much more people who live carelessly? Whether you like it or not, storms will rise. Who is with you in your storm will make a difference.

REFLECTION

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:37, 39 NKJV

The presence of Christ in your life does not make you immune to storms, it is the reason for more storms. Therefore you must learn to trust the God of all peace to speak peace to you always whenever you find yourself in a stormy situation.

PRAYER

Father, please, may I never lose your peace storms of life rise.
