But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty

1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV

MESSAGE

God does not need a genius, He is not in a search for a super-intelligent person. God needs a man whose brain, hands, legs, and entire body parts can be used for His glory. God is in search of a vessel through whom He can show forth His praise in this generation.

Don’t forget that He chose you even before the foundation of the world was laid. So, you must not think that God chose you because you are smart or qualified but despite those qualities. He chose the weakest of men to display His strength.

After all, if God has chosen the strongest and wisest men, they would boast in their strenght and wisdom. That is why the Bible says in our text of the day that God chose the weak, and the people consider fools to confound the wise and strong of this world.

God does not need a giant to defeat Goliath, all He needed was a vessel through whom He can take the glory due to Him. Once He finds such a man, God’s strength can be visibly displayed. The moment God found a young David, His work was accomplished.

None of us should think of ourselves more than necessary because we are simply clay in His hands. Those of us who have been redeemed and washed in the blood of the lamb know quite well that God saved us by grace not by our merit but by the merit of His Son. If it were by anything we have done or have to do, then we would boast, but God did it all (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Since whatever God wants to do on earth has to involve humans, God looks for men with whose lives He can do those things. The most important thing as the scriptures say is this:

Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. II Timothy 2:21 NKJV

God can use any vessel, He is in search of any available vessel. Any vessel will make himself ready for His use, God is ever willing to use the fellow.

REFLECTION

I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV

God searches out a man and tries him. Once God finds you a suitable vessel, He will do great things in your life.

PRAYER

Father, please find me a suitable vessel for your use and glory.
