And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

2 Corinthians 6:16 NKJV

MESSAGE

The biggest miracle of a true Christian life is the fact that the big God dwells in a small frail dust called man. Indeed we have this great treasure im jars of clay. Do you notice that Paul claimed that his life is no longer his but Christ’s, this is because Christ now lives in him (Galatians 2:20).

The Bible says in John 3:16 that everyone who believes in Christ will now become carriers of His life. It will be a true statement if we call a Christian “Christ Carrier”. Before your experience of salvation, you have been living your life anyhow you wanted, but the moment you surrender to Christ, He assumes control of your life.

Our text of the day says you are His temple. God is now in you and will need every member of your body to perform His eternal counsel. Did you notice also that the Bible says, He will walk in you?

Because you are God’s temple, you are to live holy and not carelessly. This is because there is a judgment on such people who messes up the temple of God.

If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. I Corinthians 3:17 NKJV

God wants to use your eyes, that eye is not for lust and perversion, He wants to use your mouth, it is not for spewing ungodly words, but rather for the propagation of the gospel. God wants to use your hands, legs, and every member of your body. You must not touch unclean things with your hands and you must not walk in the counsel of the ungodly.

Always remember this when the enemy wants you to abuse your body, “You have been bought with a price, and you no longer belong to yourself but to Christ” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Allow God to use you for His glory how He deems fit. No sin or sinful habit should be tolerated in your life, always live a life pleasing to God in words and deeds.

REFLECTION

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV

Do you live your life and use your body as though it is God’s temple? If not, repent today and begin to use your life and body for God’s glory.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to keep my body always pure and ready to be used by You in Jesus’s name. Amen
