MESSAGE
One of the greatest needs of many individuals today is help. Almost everyone needs help. Whether it is from the government, a family member, or anyone including angels, there is a huge demand for help. Unfortunately many have had their hope dashed because help did not come in their hour of need or help came too late.
It is natural to look to men for help, but as believers, the word of God teaches us that is better to trust in the Lord than to put one’s trust in well-connected people (Psalms 118:8-9). In our text of the day, the Bible made it absolutely clear that God will help you at the best time. He will never come too early or too late, the timing will be absolutely perfect.
David in our reading of the day made it clear as a standard for believers to put their eyes away from any other source. He claimed that he will lift up his eyes to the hills, but his help only comes from the Lord who made the heaven and the earth. The same God who caters to the birds of the air is the surest helper (Matthew 6:26).
You may be in a very tight or difficult corner right now and you may be thinking that all hope is lost. It could be a life-threatening disease or family-related problems, or in most cases financial difficulties, all you need to do is turn your eyes upon Jesus and cry for help.
When the storms of life are beating hard against the boat of your life and it looks as if you will sink, don’t turn to yourself or any other but the Lord. You must cry to Jesus just as Peter did when faced with a similar situation.
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
Matthew 14:30 NKJV
Beloved, do not lose heart, keep trusting and believing even if your faith seems to be draining, God will help you out of that situation, and He will glorify Jesus His Son in your life. But you must cry to Him for help today.
REFLECTION
“For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.
Isaiah 50:7 NKJV
Help is sure for you if you fully trust in God – He will help you. Learn to shift your gaze from men unto Jesus, He will never let you down.
