Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

MESSAGE

Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God.
Ecclesiastes 8:11‭-‬13 NKJV

Many continue to indulge in and practice sin today because they believe that Jesus will not come anytime soon. They live as though whatever they do, they can simply get away with it not knowing that, a ward is coming soon. No sinner will escape on the great day of reckoning.

Although no one knows the time or the hour when Jesus will come, every believer needs to be always ready. The Bible admonishes those who have the hope of seeing Jesus face to face must purify themselves even as Christ is pure (1 John 3:3).

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of God. Many will be totally shocked because they are not prepared. They will try to escape into the Ark of Salvation but it will be too late.

We see a similar picture being painted right in front of our very eye as man continues to reject the offer of Salvation that Jesus died to give all that believes. Many have postponed their salvation and never had the opportunity to repent. This is why Jesus is calling you again today to stop and address sin in your life so that the cancer does not spread into other parts of your life.

Notice that in our text of the day, the unfaithful servant was not ready for the Master’s return. The result was a serious judgment that wrecked this servant into eternity.

Are you among those playing church and spending hours doing what they pleased instead of what pleases Jesus? Don’t be deceived, Jesus is coming soon, but are you ready?

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Are you a sober and vigilant Christian who is waiting for the return of His Lord? Check yourself.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to be vigilant and watchful for the imminent return of Jesus.
