Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

MESSAGE
The Bible says in our text of the day that we must preach the gospel in and out of season. This means that the gospel must be preached whether it is or it is not convenient. Today, many believers have left the preaching of the word for other activities, they have quickly forgotten that for men to be saved they must hear the word of God (Romans 1:16).
Jesus in our reading of the day laid a great template for us to be dutiful in our preaching of the gospel. He said that because His father is working, so also, He is working. He called, His meat doing the will of God.
Are you also doing the will of God by preaching the word? The great commission to many can be called a great omission because they would do every other thing but not preach the word.
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

How well are you obeying that instruction? Are you zealous of good works by inviting your friends and family to join God’s family. Unfortunately, many Christians today are not even sure of their salvation, how then can they invite others to come and join God’s family? Are you sure you are saved?
If yes, then you must be an active soul winner. The heartbeat of God must be your heartbeat; you can not slack your hands. Tracts and other important gospel materials must be given out. You must engage people in a one-on-one conversation about God.
God is counting on you to bring others out of the bondage of sin, you must not let Him down. Go out today and tell someone that God loves him or her and that Jesus died for such person’s sin. Today is another opportunity to rescue a life on his way to eternal damnation. Act fast!
REFLECTION
But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

How often are obeying the command to preach the gospel to others? Are you fulfilling God’s purpose for saving you by bringing others to the faith? Remember, if you are fruitless, God will have no use of you and you will be cut off from the vine. Repent today and do the first work.
PRAYER
Father, please help me to preach the gospel when it is convenient and not convenient. Forgive me for failing to obey the command to preach in times past.
