MESSAGE
Power is the ability to do work. No matter how sharp a sword is, if it is handled by a weak man or child, it will still be ineffective. While the power of God lies in His word, the man proclaiming the gospel must be filled with God’s power. In Philippians 4:13, the Bible says that it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
The word of God also said that we can be full of God’s power and God can do beyond our thoughts or imagination according to His power working in us (Ephesians 3:19-20). Knowing these facts, Christians must understand that they must seek the infilling of God’s Holy Spirit passionately.
Before the Lord began to preach, the Bible recorded that He was baptized in the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:38 described that event with more clarity.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Acts 10:38 NKJV
If Jesus needed the power of the Holy Ghost to preach, so must His followers. Whether it is the ability to face the crowd and preach Christ, or the ability to witness about Jesus in the face of death. They are found in the power of the Holy Ghost.
Note, that any man or woman who will successfully preach the gospel powerfully must be specially filled with the Holy Spirit. You can never underestimate what the Spirit will do with a man who is full of His presence. Everyone who has successfully preached the gospel with power has one thing in common, and it is might infilling with the Holy Ghost.
Do you love to preach the gospel and see many lives changed? Are you interested in seeing God turn your generation upside down for Jesus Christ? Then you must turn to God and ask Him to baptize you in the Holy Ghost today.
REFLECTION
With the Holy Spirit, you can preach with power. Jesus was filled with the Spirit, so why not you?
