Romans 1:28 NKJV
MESSAGE
Nothing puts a man at great enmity with Gid than the pride of life. In 1 John 2:15-16, the Bible admonishes that the believer must not love the world and the worldly pattern, because doing this will make him an enemy of God (James 4:4). That scripture listed 3 hallmark characters found in the world and warns that we move as far away as possible from them.
Of the three, the Bible called the last, “Pride of life”. This I believe is now on display everywhere in modern society. The pride against God and His natural order of life (especially sexual life). This has made men live as they want and continue to dishonor God in their bodies.
When you look at society and the sexual ideologies that are being embraced, it will remind one of Sodom and Gomorrah, but now much worse.
In our reading of the day, the Bible says that because they refuse to acknowledge God and His ways, God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves.
Romans 1:24 NKJV.
The whole idea of all these sinful practices is to discredit God. In the end, those who live in such a way have fallen deep into depravity. As scripture says, “For God gave them up to vile passions” – Romans 1:26. The Bible says that these proud individuals end up becoming vain in their imagination and their foolish hearts darkened.
The sad end of the proud is destruction. Although sad, many young people are being indoctrinated into these prideful ideologies. Believers should pray for those who have been brainwashed into these ideas that God would turn them always from the way of pride that leads to destruction to the path of life in Jesus Christ. Amen.
REFLECTION
A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.
Proverbs 29:23 NKJV
The proud is walking the slippery paths, their foot would soon slide, thereof pray for them and point them to Christ.
PRAYER
Father, Please turn everyone involved in the LGBTQ+ to Yourself. Please deliver them from the spirit of pride in Jesus’ name. Amen.
